Your Nervous System controls your body. every. single. cell.

July 8th, 2010

Hi There, it’s been too long since I’ve added anything to our blog, but I was thinking about the amazingness of the Nervous System this morning and felt compelled to add this chart to our blog ‘downloadables’. Check it out. Read through it, and as always, if you have any questions at all about it, please don’t hesitate to call/email/come in/smoke signal and ask us, we love questions about this stuff!
We have some exciting news coming up in the next couple weeks, but I can’t spoil the surprise yet, you will have to check back in find out….(my marketing friend would be proud… ending the blog on a cliffhanger! ha!)

BE EXTRAORDINARY.

June 15th, 2010

Hi everyone, thanks for checking in. Today’s post is really not specifically about chiropractic, but rather about what we’ve been doing recently and what makes us smile. I was away this weekend at a seminar for personal growth and personal motivation…i know, i know, sometimes that sounds very cliche or corny, but i had a lot of ‘take home’ points, some of which i would love to share with you today. The seminar was put on by Robin Sharma (http://www.robinsharma.com), and was called “Awakening Best Self” weekend. The driving theme of the weekend was leadership and living your life to the fullest. Easy to say, harder to actually do. We, as a society, have grown accustomed to living our lives in mediocrity, not a life of mastery. If we were to all focus on a few things and refine our art in those few areas, instead of doing many many things at an average level, our lives would be profoundly different. What if we focused on being the absolute best dad we could be? What you became the absolute best taxi driver / custodian / accountant / internet marketer / friend / parent / sister / brother / father / mother you could be? Really lived in the moment, and gave it your all…wouldn’t this world be a better place? One exercise we did at the seminar was to write out what we want to be known for after our physical body dies, essentially writing our eulogy. Powerful stuff. It’s amazing how you don’t care about the new car, the house, the bills, the payments, the paycheck or any other material things…mine was all about leaving a legacy for my children, creating ‘world class’ experiences for my kids and family, knowing that i passed on values of love, trust of natural processes, integrity, compassion, optimism and gratitude. It’s a great exercise, try it with your partner, family member or children – find out what you want to be known for when you are no longer here.
Become a master of your art, be the best the world has ever seen, bring joy to those around you and watch your life experience explode! Here is a short video that someone sent to our inbox, something to make you smile – sure did make us smile! Enjoy, and make it a fantastic, superbly awesome day!

chiropractor in the making?

well…time for an update…

May 31st, 2010

Hi there!
Well, lots going on this past little while….where to start…Kara is back now, she was in Austria for 10 days to be at her dear friend Alena’s wedding, so that left me, at home and the office with Sophie… it was great, I was a bit stressed before she left, but we ended up having a great time together, really had a chance to bond a bit, some father-daughter time.

It’s hard to believe, but we have been at Cafe of Life now (well almost now – on the 2nd of June) for 2 years! What a great 2 years it’s been too! We are honoured, humbled and grateful to be your chiropractors, and to help you lead a life full of health and happiness!
C’mon in this week and help us celebrate!

We have something fun planned for the next little bit, somewhat of an experiment…some of you will have already seen something similar, but its a very powerful and shocking visual…you will have to stop in to see whats going on!!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Chiropractic groupies!

May 19th, 2010

Hi There – well, tomorrow we’ll be heading down to Toronto for 2 days to work with one of our favourite musicians Xavier Rudd! We are super excited about the opportunity, we had worked with him last year while he was on tour and look forward to the experience this year! That’s something I truly love about this profession, the ability to work with anyone! Anyone can benefit from having a clear nervous system, and anyone can benefit from their body working to its best potential….its no coincidence that some of the best of the best have a chiropractor at their side when they are doing what they do best…(ie. Lance Armstrong, Jerry Rice, Tiger Woods)…

anyway, really excited about this weekend, just thought I would let you know what we are going to be up to this weekend, be safe, have fun and we’ll talk real soon!

an amazing race!

May 17th, 2010

So…this weekend we were part of ‘An Amazing Race’ here in Barrie – it was truly an amazing race (thanks so much to Rose for setting up the fantastic day!)
The race was in support of ‘Seasons Centre for Grieving Children’ and more than $8600 was raised!! Amazing Day.

We had a great day, and team ‘wii not fit’ (that’s us) actually won the race! Gotta train for next year to keep the streak alive!

Check back again soon for more pictures of race day!

IN8

March 30th, 2010

you have within you an innate intelligence. an intelligence that created you from two cells, which grew to 4, then 8, then 16, 32 and so forth. you created a brain, a spinal cord, organs, systems and cells. some cells are for fighting off bad guys (bacteria, viruses, pathogens) and other cells are red blood cells, others are nerve cells – all of which are created in the perfect amount and put into the perfect place. ever wonder how everyone’s heart is in the same spot? ever have to think about healing the cut on your finger? ever have to concentrate on producing the right amount of insulin for your body to work properly? ever have to try and get the acidity right in your stomach to be able to break down certain foods? in this increasingly ‘academic’ world of ours we have lost touch with the fact that there are millions of things happening in our bodies every second, and that its our innate, inborn intelligence that runs the show. if you cut your finger, are you better off thinking about every little thing that has to happen for it to heal properly (white blood cells, red blood cells, fibrin, platelets, angiotensin, angiotensinogen, etc…) or should you just trust that your body will heal it to the best of it’s ability? the answer is obvious.

chiropractic is not about neck pain. it’s not about back pain, shoulder pain, wrist pain, leg pain or sciatic pain. in fact, chiropractic has nothing to do with pain. chiropractic allows your body to be the best it can be. sounds cheesy, but honestly, your body can do everything it needs to do, as long as there is clear communication, as long as there is no interference in your nervous system. we all know that the brain controls everything we do and creates everything we need. you can create any drug you need, and not only that, but you can create the exact right amount and have it delivered to the exact right place at the exact right time too…amazing huh?

chiropractic is way more than just another modality that you can ‘have done’. its a way of looking at, and living, life. having trust in your body that it is always doing everything perfectly, or as perfectly as it can in the moment, is such a free and liberating way to live your life. no need to mask symptoms because you understand that there is a reason for it. no need to live in fear that something is wrong because you know that millions of things are going right within you. no need to drug ourselves into a daze to make it through the day because we know that truly living is being able to experience fully this ride we call life.

live with your nervous system clear of interference, live full out.
